- About Hobart | Hobart 2026
IMAGE CREDIT: ADAM GIBSON About Hobart Set on the edge of the River Derwent and framed by the dramatic backdrop of Mount Wellington, Hobart is Australia’s second-oldest capital city and one of its most distinctive destinations. Compact, walkable, and full of character, Hobart blends heritage streetscapes, waterfront energy, world-class food and wine, and access to some of Tasmania’s most spectacular natural landscapes. A City Built on History Founded in 1804, Hobart has a rich maritime and colonial history that still shapes the city today. Sandstone warehouses, heritage pubs, and converted waterfront buildings sit alongside contemporary galleries, restaurants, and hotels, creating a city that feels both historic and modern at the same time. The city’s deep connection to the river, surrounding wilderness, and creative culture has helped shape Hobart into one of Australia’s leading tourism and hospitality destinations. Getting Around Hobart One of Hobart’s biggest advantages is its accessibility. The city is compact and easy to navigate, with many key attractions, restaurants, hotels, and event venues located within walking distance of each other. Airport Transfers Hobart Airport is located approximately 20 minutes from the CBD. The most convenient airport transfer options include: SkyBus Hobart Express – Regular services operate between Hobart Airport and the city centre, including stops near major accommodation precincts. Taxi Services – Available directly outside the terminal. Uber – available throughout Hobart and surrounding suburbs (no other rideshare platforms are available). Car hire is also available at the airport for delegates wishing to explore regional Tasmania before or after the Assembly. Hobart Weather in September September in Hobart is the beginning of spring - but it is still very much Tasmanian weather. All official events will be held indoors. Delegates should expect: Cold mornings and evenings Crisp daytime temperatures Occasional rain, wind, and rapidly changing conditions Average temperatures generally range between 5°C and 15°C. Layers are strongly recommended, along with: A warm jacket Waterproof outerwear Comfortable walking shoes Tasmania’s weather can change quickly, sometimes delivering sunshine, rain, and snow on Mount Wellington all in the same day.

- Sustainability | Adelaide 2025
Sustainability The Gold Coast is one of the most biodiverse regions in Australia. Our city is naturally unique, defined by spectacular beaches, hinterland ranges, forests and waterways – a celebration of nature. The Gold Coast is within one of only 36 biodiverse hot spots across the world. Approximately 50.55% of the city's land area is covered in native vegetation. We are working towards achieving a target of 51%. Over 12,600 hectares of the Gold Coast's coastal wetlands and islands are Ramsar-listed wetlands of international significance. The Springbrook and Lamington plateaus form part of the Border Ranges group with 4524.8 hectares of World Heritage-listed Gondwana rainforests in the city, protecting areas of extremely high species diversity. We have 52 kilometres of open coastline and famous surfing beaches bordering the Pacific Ocean. Some 480 kilometres of rivers and streams, as well as 774 hectares of lakes, dams and canals, wind their way through the landscape to our ocean beaches. SUSTAINABILITY AT NATIONAL ASSEMBLY We will endeavour to minimise paper and plastic use at the National Assembly. Our Event Partners Email skaladlsecretary@gmail.com Follow
